A popular motorcycle event in Aurora, Illinois turned chaotic when an angry driver in a pickup truck tried to chase down a dirt bike rider who kicked his vehicle – and ended up running over a motorcycle in the process.
The Formation Ride, an annual event that draws hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts and stunt riders, was proceeding as usual when 44-year-old Joe Hernandez, the driver of a silver truck, apparently came down with a case of road rage. “That this truck was following the Formation Ride, he wasn’t trying to get around the formation, he was antagonizing the riders,” an unnamed spokesperson for Chicago United Riders told WMAQ-TV.
“It was road rage 100 percent on the trucker’s part. Instead of trying to get out of way, he was following the riders even as they turned numerous times,” the spokesperson continued. However, Hernandez claims that the motorcyclists instigated the incident when one of them kicked his truck.
